Shogun Japanese Buffet, JB

Yesterday I went to this Shogun Japanese Food Buffet located in Taman Pelangi to celebrate my 2nd sis's bf's birthday. We reached there around 7.30pm. We didn't make any reservation. I was surprised as the restaurant is bigger and more crowded than I expected. There were 6 of us and they squeezed us into a small table then the waitress showed us around and taught us how to place order.

We were sitting next to the sashimi, sushi and salad bar which gave us the priority to eat 1st whenever there is fresh sashimi.. Yummy... They provide fresh coconuts, all sorts of Maki, teppanyaki, teriyaki, miso soup, shabu-shabu, tempura, ice-cream and soba.

We started with some sashimi and tempura that is serving at the bar. We ordered seafood shabu-shabu, miso soup shabu-shabu, sake, teppanyaki inoki, oyster, abalone, my fave unagi, tempura.....and so on. We ate a lot. Kiasu ma. My sis highly recommended their salmon fishhead but yesterday it was out of stock. They said maybe the shop keep the fish head for weekend. Other than the salmon fish head, their baked cheese scallop and teppanyaki crab also out of stock.

I love their seafood shabu-shabu with the seafood soup base, teppanyaki oyster, sake, unagi and also salmon sashimi. The sashimi is much more thicker than the one in Sosaku, another Japanese buffet in JB. I like the environment there because of it's well decoration but we found that there is some funny smell in the restaurant. It is still worth to eat anyway. It's the best in JB. Don't compare it to KL.

If around JB area then there is another one located near to Lavender in Pelangi. That one is much smaller with smaller variety of food.
If you are looking for japanese steamboat then you might consider Modern Revelation. It is lcoated at Tmn Molek and it serves good meat.
